Castle Bolton, Wensleydale - August 2007

Restoration of sections of a retaining wall around the public car park at Castle Bolton for the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority

In total about 60 metres of wall are to be restored in sections, a task over 3 weeks commencing Wednesday 15 August, when 3 separate groups of YDNPA Volunteers will be working one day each per week, over the 3 week period.

Guild members Richard Laidler, Dave Purvis and Paul Adamson assisted the Ragged Robin Conservation Group on their day to work on the wall As you would expect, there are a certain amount of "competitive elements" creeping into the project, but it will be interesting to compare the varying building techniques at the end of the job!
