Carperby, Wensleydale - April 2008

Here is another job "which you don't get to do every day." Clearing away debris and building a small wall and fitting a lockable gate to the entrance to an old stone mine shaft above Carperby in Lower Wensleydale for the YDNPA.

The objective was to make the entrance sheep and people proof, but to allow access above the gates for the Bat residents, after a very wet and "clarty" day, it is hoped the occupants appreciated our efforts.
