Westcliffe Farm, Danby Botton, North Yorkshire Moors – 18-19 October 2008
A training course for just two provided an opportunity for two other members to join us for a practice and try their hand at building with some nice, chunky, dressed sandstone – a rare luxury for some of us more used to the rugged limestone of the Dales. The very user-friendly materials and good weather enabled us to make rapid progress, completing three tasks over the weekend.
On day 1, a stone gate post was relocated, the adjacent wall was rebuilt and a 4 metre gap in a field wall was repaired. On day 2, a new 8 metre section of boundary wall was built.
